| Sorry if this is off-topic but I was wondering what other animals you all like. I like mostly viverrids (civets, genets, and linsangs), wolves, cats, and birds. However, the foxes are still my favorite animals. |

Hm, dunno about favourites as such... foxes aren't so much my "favourite" as the species I've felt "connected" to since I can remember. Sorta like a "totem" - doesn't mean I like them less, it's just... well... *shrugs*
It's the red fox that has felt closest, I think, purely because they're native to the British isles, but then I like the rest of them equally (particularly Bengals, for some reason - there's not enough photos of them, though. ). The little desert foxes seem to be suffering from an overdose of the "cute" association, though. *sad face*
Aside from all the 13 species of fox and the zorros, Maned "wolves" (which aren't actually wolves at all), cheetahs, REAL jackals (not the "Anubian" ones in furry art, which look more like pharaoh hounds, all sleek coats and giant ears) and painted dogs come in close second, mind. It's odd - I like both foxes and cheetahs, and both of those animals are "caught midway" between the groups. The cheetah is a cat that evolved to fit the dog's niche where big dogs like wolves were rare, as it's very doglike (non-retractile claws, a running build rather than a slinking cat's build, very light for speed). And the fox evolved to fit the cat's niche where big cats were rarer - soft, sound-muffling feet, partly retractable claws, slit pupils... I like the painted dogs (I like that name better than Cape Hunting dog, but they're the same thing, to confused peoples) simply because they're gorgeous - and utterly family-oriented - we hyoo-muns should take notes, in some cases!
Then of course you've got all the rest of the dog family (except wolves - I see them as a little... well, what? Pass - they've just never resonated much, for some reason. ). Big cats come after that...
Of course, that's ignoring all the weird species I just think are pretty cool. I like wasps, with their smart yellow-and-black blazers, and cuttlefish/squid, and of course magpies. And catfish, they're great. Weird species are good to base aliens off. DuSkai! |

Hiyerf everybody!!
Frankly, I love foxes exclusively, and second to them I "like" cats of any variety. All animals are beautiful in their own special ways, but regardless of all creation I feel that foxes are really "my" species. Red foxes primarily. Now, I have never really known how to describe my "love" for foxes; I don't intend to try to do so now either. But I simply adore foxes---and domestic/wild cats place a distant second.
Though nevertheless I admire all animals, from the greatest elephant to the smallest flea, each for its own purposes. Each individual species having been graciously endowed with the perfect measure of whatever it needs to be exactly what it is.
Not to say that I "like" little fleas, ticks, cockroaches, and such pests as them.
Happy posting!

Hmm,
I love cats (especially the wild sort) such as ocelots (my very favourite), tigers, lions, leopards and jaguars and panthers, cougars, liger/tigons/leopons and them sort, bobcats, lynxes... every type of cat I love.
I also like every single animal found on the
a) Savannah: capybara's especially, giraffes, gazelles, cheetahs, lions, servals, caracals, zebras, and all them on the Savannah
b) Arctic Tundra: arctic hares, foxes, polar bears, harp seals, snowy owls etc.
But over all I am one big nature lover. Always have. Few years back I wanted to be a ntauralist (person who studies nature) but now I think I'm going for the nature-photographer.
Whoa, I think I should explain the foxes thing.
In grade 6 I had to do a project on an animal of my choice. So I chose the fox! And then I found this place, only is different, and then I just grew to love foxes. _________________ JEN

Foxes are my favorite animals, but I also like skunks, racoons, and all kinds of creepy crawly stuff. Opossums aren't nice.....I have bad past experiences with them _________________ From the dark depths of the universe, Pandora lives! |

I like dholes (=Asian red dogs) pretty much. They look a bit like a fox/wolf hybrid |

Hmm... Dholes and Genets are both admirable.
Ferrets can also be enjoyable.
And the Cacomistle, if you've ever seen one.
I don't mind insects, but I can't stand birds... _________________ Um... signature. |

Cats! Big ones, especially tigers and panthers, and of course the little household variety. In fact, one of the things I enjoy most about foxes is that they are the most "feline" of the canine species. They run like cats, have those vertical pupils and big fluffy tails, and even that shriek they make is kind of wildcat-like.
